Accurate level data without the maintenance headache. The EM400-UDL C050 uses ultrasonic sensing to measure the gap between the device and whatever sits below it, from 250 mm out to 5 metres, with 1 mm resolution and accuracy of ±(1 + 0.3% of measured distance) cm. Nothing is submerged and nothing needs cleaning, which makes it well suited to sludge, aggregates, chemicals and anything else that would foul a contact probe.
A built-in three-axis accelerometer reports whether the unit has been knocked out of position, while an internal NTC thermistor tracks temperature from -40 to 125°C and can raise an alert on a sudden rise, an early indicator of combustion in refuse containers.
Two replaceable 9,000 mAh ER26500 lithium cells give over ten years of service on a ten-minute reporting interval, so units can be fitted and left alone. The ABS and PC housing is sealed to IP67 and the PCBA carries a conformal coating for extra defence against moisture and dust, with an operating window of -30 to 70°C. Installation is a simple screw fixing to a flat surface.
Choose LoRaWAN for long-range, low-power coverage on private or public networks, or the NB-IoT and Cat M variants where cellular infrastructure already exists, both of which add GNSS positioning. Setup, thresholds and calibration are all handled wirelessly through the Milesight ToolBox app by tapping a phone against the enclosure, and readings can be pushed straight into Milesight IoT Cloud for dashboards, automated triggers and real-time alerts.
Typical uses include tank and silo fill levels, waste collection scheduling, water course and flood monitoring, and boiler expansion vessels.
