Milesight EM400-UDL (C100) Ultrasonic Distance/Level Sensor
When the vessel is too deep for a short-range probe, the C100 covers it. This variant of the EM400-UDL measures from 250 mm right out to 10 metres, holding 1 mm resolution across the whole span with an accuracy of ±(1 + 0.3% of measured distance) cm. Ultrasonic pulses do the work from above the surface, which keeps the head clear of slurry, grain, effluent, aggregate and corrosive liquids that would degrade a submerged instrument.
Alongside distance, the device reports its own tilt via a three-axis accelerometer, flagging any unit that has shifted after a delivery or a knock. An internal NTC thermistor covers -40 to 125°C and can trigger a warning on a rapid climb, giving early notice of a fire in a skip or bin.
Power comes from a pair of user-replaceable 9,000 mAh ER26500 lithium batteries, good for more than ten years at a ten-minute reporting rate under laboratory conditions. The flame-retardant ABS and PC shell carries an IP67 ingress rating plus a conformal coating on the board itself, guarding the electronics against condensation and airborne dust between -30 and 70°C. Fixing is by screws to any flat surface.
Specify LoRaWAN for private or public low-power networks reaching up to 15 km in open ground, or NB-IoT and Cat M to lean on existing mobile coverage, with GNSS included for asset tracking. Configuration, threshold alarms and calibration are handled through the ToolBox mobile app over NFC, with no need to open the case, and data flows into Milesight IoT Cloud for visualisation, scheduled reports and automated triggers.
Well matched to deep silos, bulk liquid stores, wet wells and pumping stations, reservoir and culvert levels, and large-capacity waste containers.
