Milesight S45 Solar Panel for Camera

A solar camera is only as dependable as the panel charging it. The S45 is Milesight's own module, matched to the power draw of its 4G solar-powered range, which calls for at least 35 watts at an open circuit voltage under 22 volts through an MC4 connection. This panel delivers 45 watts at 18.44 volts open circuit, giving genuine headroom through the short, overcast days when a marginal panel would leave a battery slowly falling behind.

Twenty-seven monocrystalline cells reach a module efficiency of 20.37%, so the energy comes from a compact footprint rather than an oversized frame that catches wind and draws attention on a pole. Output tolerance runs positive only, from nominal up to almost five watts above it, meaning a unit will never leave the factory underperforming its rating.

Construction is conventional and proven: 3.2 mm tempered glass across the face, an anodised aluminium frame, and an IP67 sealed junction box. Mechanical loading is rated to 5,400 Pa on the front and 2,400 Pa at the rear, which covers wind and snow loading on exposed roadside and rooftop positions. The operating window spans -40 to +85°C.

At 4.2 kg it is a one-person lift up a ladder, and because both bracket types ship in the box there is no separate mounting order to chase. The 50 cm output cable can be specified longer where the panel needs to sit some distance from the camera to find clear sky.

Suited to roadside enforcement and traffic counting installations, temporary and construction site cameras, car park entry monitoring, and any remote position where trenching for power cannot be justified.
